Dr Prasanna B K is a well known Gastrointestinal Surgeon in Bangalore. Presently he is running his clinic in Bengaluru and is attached to various hospitals in Bengaluru. He graduated from the prestigious JSS Medical College, Mysore in 2009. He subsequently did his postgraduate surgical training at Jawahar Institute of post graduate medical education & research (JIPMER- one of the top medical schools in the country) and obtained MS (General Surgery) degree in 2014. Further he has worked as a senior resident in the same department and continued to imbibe surgical skills at this eminent center. In the year 2017, he got into DrNB course at PVS Memorial Hospital, Kochi and got first hand training in performing high end, complex abdominal surgery and laparoscopic surgeries. As part of DrNB training, he continued to get trained at Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore and he successfully completed the exit exam and obtained Doctorate of national board in surgical gastroenterology in the year 2019, followed by Fellowship in minimal access surgery in the year 2021. He has undergone special training in performing laparoscopic hernia, bariatric, esophageal and colorectal surgery. His special interest in the field of Gastrointestinal cancer has made him treat many patients with cancer involving esophagus, stomach, colon, rectum, pancreas, liver and gallbladder.
My grandmother had very bad stomach pain a few months ago and for that we went to Dr Prasanna sir for treatment.My granny was diagnosed with colon cancer after surgery, he himself calls the patients and follows up their condition, which is a rare quality we see in doctors nowadays. I consulted Dr Prasanna after reading all the reviews.. I had to get gall bladder removal surgery and was very tensed regarding the same..I was indeed surprised to meet a doctor who took time in explaining the procedure and answered all our queries very patiently and calmly. When I had doubts I would call or message doctor and he would instill confidence in me.. He is so down to earth and approachable. I went ahead with the surgery . I consulted Dr.Prasanna, he made me understand the problem of my gallstones and hernia which required surgery in easy manner. I underwent the surgery early morning and Fairly recovered by same day evening at the hospital. A very genuine doctor who accommodated follow up on a Sunday,he use to receive/make telephone calls at any point of time. Dr. Prasanna sir is a patient friendly person.
I have diagnosed for acute appendicitis and umbilical hernia....consulted Dr. Prassanna sir and as per suggestion got surgery within a day as it's acute....got surgery and now feeling well and recovering and doctor is so friendly and treated me very well...
